The BV Art Gallery project was born in Siena in 2003 from a decade of experience in the art sector with the aim of promoting and celebrating the tradition of landscape painting in Tuscany.<\/p>\n
From the scenes of country life of the Good Government in Ambrogio Lorenzetti's frescoes in the Palazzo Pubblico of Siena, which realistically describe the activities of peasants in the medieval countryside, to the Renaissance's renovated interest in natural backgrounds, up to
the 19th century with the painting of the Macchiaioli, the Tuscan landscape has always been at the center of interest of artists and the public for its extraordinary beauty.<\/p>\n

The Tuscan landscape is to all intents and purposes the result of a centuries-old relationship between nature and culture. The way in which human activity has shaped the territory, without ever distorting it, rather lovingly preserving the signs of the past and harmonizing them with the changes in the economic and and social stucture, has allowed the development of the unique aesthetic character of this land. Every year thousands of travelers visit this region and are fascinated by it: by the hills of the Val d’Orcia with the infinite variations of light, the Chianti vineyards and woods that change color from season to season, the
magnificent fields of poppies and wild flowers that can be found crossing the region, up to the bright coastal areas; everything tells the story of a unique territory.<\/p>\n

We find precisely this uniqueness in the artworks of our artists; professional Tuscan painters and sculptors who have been organizing their artistic production on the theme of landscape for decades. Each of them, with their own technique and style, tells us about these places.<\/p>\n
A tribute is also reserved for the traditional Palio race in Siena, the city where the Gallery is located, which is still deeply felt and which takes place twice a year in the main square, Piazza del Campo, and to the figure of the Horse, the undisputed protagonist of the race. The figure of the Horse has always represented a challenge for artists due to its elegance and beauty.<\/p>\n
