Fabrizio Filippi
Fabrizio Filippi was born in Castagneto Carducci in 1953, where he still lives and works, in the middle of that sweet countryside that he loves to reproduce so much. He is one of the most important and significant painters of the Tuscan landscape, to which he is inextricably linked. Always passionate about painting, he owes his artistic career to a long and careful study and technical research but, at the same time, interior.
His paintings are capable of arousing sensations and impressions of an aesthetic and emotional nature. They involve us and reach the heart, evoking vivid memories and sweet nostalgia, to the point of making us feel a vibrant part of them.
Filippi is a painter capable of admirably combining modern artistic acquisitions, having inherited the heritage of the great masters of the past, with emotional suggestions. In his works we can see his ability to blend a balanced compositional structure with the wise choice of landscape elements, in which the chromatic modulations are rich in lyrical resonances.
A warm, passionate palette, emphasized by the alternation of vigorous and energetic brushstrokes with soft and persuasive ones, is brought on the canvas or on its very famous painted windows, such as the pictorial gesture, almost of an abstract expressionism, becomes tangible bringing a motion of the soul back to the surface. In his paintings the vision is created through the light that reveals the forms with realist immediacy, taking up the Post-Macchiaiolo tradition of which he is a son. The spontaneity of his painting is reflected in the immediate freshness that he transmits, with results of involving pathos, that attract ever greater consensus around his work. Numerous awards have been awarded to him in the course of extemporaneous exhibitions and competitions. Critics and curators have written about him and various catalogs have been published on his artistic career. During his long career, Fabrizio Filippi has exhibited in many Italian and foreign cities, in galleries in England and in the United States and his artworks have become part of numerous public and private collections. For more than ten years the B.V. Art Gallery exhibits his works exclusively.
